Resident Call System

All rooms in our home are linked to a resident call system, which is one of the most advanced systems available.

Fire detection

We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of fire detection technology, and to that end we have a system which not only identifies that a fire exists but also pinpoints the position to within a couple of metres. This enables our trained staff to carry out their fire fighting, movement or evacuation drills without the need to spend vital time sourcing the location of the fire within a general area.

In the Windrush Wing a state of the art sprinkler system has been incorporated which according to statistics ensures the protection of Residents against death by fire or smoke inhalation.

All staff receive regular fire training and the premises are visited regularly by our Fire Protection Consultant.

All furniture and fabrics in the building are purchased according to the appropriate fire retardancy standards.

Health & Safety Training

As well as induction and optional NVQ vocational training, all staff receive initial and follow-up training in manual handling, food hygiene, first aid and fire procedures as well as the operation of all the equipment available for the benefit of Residents.
